Hard Bone Mixing Abnormal Sound Detection System
Detect abnormal sounds during meat sliding to prevent the mixing of hard bones!
This document introduces examples of measurement systems that determine the presence of hard bone contamination in meat products. Many meat processing centers conduct full inspections using soft X-rays to check for bone fragments in meat. However, if bone fragments are embedded within fat, they cannot be distinguished. Our analysis shows that when bone fragments are sliced by a meat slicer, there is a change in a specific frequency range (sound/vibration). By attaching a vibration sensor to the bearing part of the rotating blade, we can capture this slight change in vibration and determine the presence or absence of bone fragments through FFT 1/3 octave analysis.
